Dado Stack On European Table Saw

Hey guys, this has probably been discussed countless times already: I am looking for a table saw in Europe that would potentially allow the option of using a dado stack. I figure I might move back to the US someday and a dado stack would be very useful for the joinery I do.

I am looking for a small table saw, for my studio. Precision is of utmost importance. Any suggestions? thanks!

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say "I hate Dado stacks".

Use a router table and keep you blade guard safely on your table saw.

i assume you hate them because they are dangerous--yeah, they are scary. but for lap joints and finger joints and other types of joinery they seem ideal. i have a router table but i still see the table saw with dado set as more efficient.

YEP!!

I think there's simply safer ways to achieve a similar result.

As far as I know Dado stacks are not allowed in the European union.

Just use a router or make multiple passes on the table saw.

Ouch... [popcorn] [popcorn] [popcorn]

I have a similar set up  to this chap... Hammer based in the UK  sent me  the  new arbour  which I retrofitted  myself.

Don't think a router  could ever match this  for  cutting speed  or  cut  accuracy.

I haven't checked  but I'm sure felder  will have a guarding system for this cutter  head/setup.

My understanding is that dado sets aren't recommended for any saw that has a braking system. That's why they sell groovers or whatever they call them for Euro saws.

Brake goes on, weight of stack spins the arbor nut off - you fill in the rest.

I use a 10" stack on my Laguna TSS but it doesn't have a brake. I can have a cup of coffee while it coasts down.  [smile]

European Union and Eurozone are not the same.  [tongue]

I wonder if Britain will allow dado stacks when the Euro hating mob here get to vote us out of the EU.

Ba da bum, tsh. Oh wait...that might actually happen.

drooling.

I don't hate the euro  but I'd vote for  independence  and be free  like  America. [big grin]
We could have the referendum on July 4th  and celebrate  independence  day  just  like our American cousins.

which machine is this exactly? how much is it? :)

It's  a Hammer  C3 31  Perform  combination  machine I picked up second hand. But in nice condition.
Which was slightly less  than the cost of a brand new Hammer  panel saw.

i've been looking at the c31 for a while. maybe i should cut my losses now and just get one of these beasts. it does everything, takes up less room. it looks amazing. probably, i would save a lot of money if i got one instead of all those separate machines.

do you have any gripes with it?
