Danish Cord Seat

I was tempted to do something like this, but after watching the video, I decided that my arthritic hands would not be happy with this.

Instead, I did a stool with pre-woven cane.  A lot of steps, but none of them are too challenging.

I would imagine that the Danish cord would be more durable than caning.

The video I watched included a lot of steps too.  None too challenging.  I’m sure you could do it.

Does the design suit your taste?  If so, take a stab at it.

But be aware:  I am now the caning expert of all my friends.  I fear I will be asked to make repairs in the future.  [big grin]

Thanks for posting this. I saw the kit on Lee Valley’s website but promptly forgot about it. I’ve always liked the look of corded seats, so I decided to get a kit and see if my better half would team with me on putting it together. I’m in the same arthritic hands boat as [member=74278]Packard[/member], and I’m hoping my wife will be able to help with weaving the cord.

I’m certain that I could get it done.  But the couple of days after, my hands would hurt.  You simply have to schedule the pain. [big grin]
