Just got an email this morning from the recon site that the CT36AC was only 646.
I have been keeping a CL tag out there for festool vacuums and have had no luck in the last 3 or 4 months. There have only been a 26 and an old 22 come up for sale and I am always just a few hours late. I have had the new makita in my amazon cart for 3 weeks as I am in need of a second vac really bad now that the CNC is up and running and I am am trying to finish the parts while it is cutting new parts.
Here is the crazy part after missing out on the CT22 this week I looked up the recon sale to see if anything was coming up, saw it was now a website you can sign up for so did that on Wednesday. Today I was cleaning out my junk mail folder and there was the email for the CT36!
So for only 100 bucks more than the highly rated Makita I pulled the trigger on the CT36AC. My thoughts were I know what I am getting, I have a spare rear handle for it, I can swap a boom arm on it if I want to and I have a ultimate DD for my CT26 so i can swap them back and forth if I needed to. The other part that sometimes sways me towards Festool is the fact that they seem to hold value so well. That makita will be worth maybe 200 bucks in a year. The CT will be worth less but maybe 50 to 100 less.
