Why did you decide to buy the Dashboard hinge instead of just using the dog holes with guide rail clips?  Also, I didn't know Rockler sells a table, what's it called?

I do use the Parf fence with the Parf guide rail clips, and it does work just fine.  But I don't like the way I have to rotate the rail up, slide board out, put new board in and lay the rail back down.  The rail, at least for me, has to come up in order for there to be enough clearance to move stock in and out.  Plus, sometimes during that process. the rail clip comes off of the Super Parf Dog and its just a little frustrating.

I like the idea of just lifting the rail, change stock and move on.  I haven't decided for sure on the Dashboard system but its highly on my 'thinking' list.

This is the main reason which makes me want the Dashboard.  It's not terribly inconvenient for me to manually lift the guide rail but would be easier with the Dashboard.  I've seen some who don't use the clips and just push the guide rail up to the dogs but I don't have that kind of confidence in that approach so I've been using the clips.

I have constructed my cutting station on a 4' x 8' table that I drilled with the Parf guide system. I use dogs and clips for most of the cuts on this table. The majority of it is with 3/4" sheet goods, so I just place small scraps under the rail near the dogs, to hold it up and to stabilize the rail when the saw is on it. Occasionally I cut some 12mm solid surface material there to, but not at the squared section. Those are usually point-to-point cuts that are specifically not square. I have a simple T-track in the table with an adhesive tape measure and a stop for repeated cuts. It's not really a high volume type of set-up. I have other ways available to do that, if needed, they are just not as handy.
I have also seen a system that eliminates the need for clips by using strong magnets along with steel dogs to attract them. It's an interesting looking idea, but I have no experience with it.

I also seen the strong magnet in the guide rail somewhere's but had my doubts if it would hold well enough.  It's good to have options and maybe reviews will show it's strong enough ...

That's the general idea but the production run is probably going to be an extrusion, like T-slot to their spec that can stow inside the tracktubes.

Are you referring to this slide out extrusion with t-slots on the sides?

That's the one  ;)

I'll be interested to see how you use it ... when are they supposed to have it ready for you?

I don't have any special inside track on this (pun intended). I'll get it the same as everyone else. And beyond that I don't have any free time to do shop projects. You'll probably see it all together from @tracktubes on IG first.

I have a couple of MFT 1080's, one with the original rail brackets and the other none. I'm looking for some upgrades for more repeatable and reliable cross cuts and have at least a couple questions:  (1) Do the Dashboard brackets fit the profile for the MFT 1080? and (2) do the Dashboard brackets provide more stability that the original 1080 brackets if the Slopstop is added to the original brackets?

I just received and installed my set of Dashboard brackets on my MFT3.  The construction on these is just the end all.  I am combining these with a 50" Pro Stop fence and measuring system on my MFT3 after watching Eric on the Poplar Shop.  Also purchased a new 1080 rail because mine got dented during some interior construction moves.
Initial setup I had issues getting it square.  After going back and forth with Rob (customer service first class), he suggested that the MFT3 table rails may not square to the top/ dog holes.  I checked and confirmed this this by installing the brackets on each end of the MFT3.  Maybe this is why some user may have challenges gettin square cuts with the stick flip rail system.
Anyways Rob's design allows for this contingency.  There are 2 screws in the flip up platform that can be loosened in order to adjust the platform to compensate for this.  Now the fence falls directly on the pin, and it squares to the back of the rail checked using Robs Arrow/dog combo, woodpecker square and starrett machinist square against the ProStop fence- all aligned with the perpendicular dog holes.
Cant tell you how pleased I am with Robs system. Saving for his bench.  Finally getting to use the MFT as designed.

linnlp12,

I ordered mine on 2/3/21. Did you get an email with tracking info once yours shipped? When did you order yours?

Thanks
Jack

I have been  busy and I just logged back in and I saw a few people are getting this system. I think it is rather exciting to see people getting in on this tool. I just completed a cabinet for my laundry room. I am not a cabinet builder by any means. This was my first cabinet build. I just want to say I was able to achieve excellent results in part due o the dashboard system. I had great success with everything coming out true and square. That resulted in my cabinet going together and my wife being happy with the results. The drawers were a challenge in the fact I had to build a dado jig . The dado jig did its job and I was able to complete my build but holy hell a simple dado would take me forever to complete. I struggled with accuracy with such a jig. I was fortunate enough to have a wife who is encouraging my new hobby and she got me the jessem master lift excel 2 table . It came with the 2nd generation fence . I have since ordered the TA fence and the miter 2 set up. I am hopeful these items will come in before the end of the month . I live in phoenix and I do not work outside in the summer time. I retired from a job where I spent nearly 30 years outside in the summers.
I went on a bit of a tangent there, I have attached the digital depth attachment to the router table. I think that is the handiest thing ever. I am able to whip out a drawer box in no time flat as compared to using a dado jig. This is all important since I won't be getting a table saw so no dado stack for this guy. So my router table is where I will land for many tasks people just crank out on a table saw.  One thing on the JessEm table The wheels are terrible. I have the steel table legs it is a three wheeled system and it is terrible save the 50 bucks and build a rolling platform with that 50 bucks you'll be happier. Well this post is a mess and I will wrap it up with I am excited to see other peoples experience with the dashboard system.

Received my dashboard hinge set for my MFT this week. It was very quick to arrive (2 days early!) considering it came to the UK from the U.S. I have to say it is extremely solid, easy to set up & has made things far less frustrating than the original MFT set up. Very happy.

This is my first post to FOG.

I recently added an MFT Aligned Guide Rail Support Upgrade Kit (Sold by TSO). It seems like a more stable and dependable Guide Rail Support than the MFT/3 OEM Supports.

Then I became aware of the Dashboard Guide Rail Bracket Set. Is the Dashboard product superior to the TSO Upgrade Kit?

By the way, I check for square with a Woodpecker's MFT Layout & Assembly Square.

Thanks.
