So, I have been playing with this off and on. This is v2.0 originally I had made 2 one for upper width cabinets and a wider one for base cabinets. I decided to just go down to one and make it so I dont need to worry about storing and flipping back and forth between two different jigs. Plus the wider one is just a pain since I dont have a lot of bench space and there never seemed to be a good place to set it. The small one is easy to tuck under the bench. It does require me to flip it around on base cabinets but since it attaches via vacuum it only takes a second. It installs 4 dowels in uppers and 8 in base cabinets. I also built in about .020" of slop in the notches. This allows me to shift over to slightly oblong the hole. This gives me a tiny bit of wiggle room during assembly. The side stop is also used to locate the jig by matching up the front edge it locates the jig the proper distance back from the edge. The photo shows it in the unclamped state, when its sucked down its tight to the part and the ddf40 slips under and into the notches. which also helps prevent rocking and keeping the fence flat to the surface.
This is also the reason I set my vacuum clamping the way I did with 2 independent controls. I use one to clamp the panel/part to the bench then the other is for attaching jigs to the top. This way I can clamp/unclamp everything independently.
