Deal on Centrotec installers kit

This has been on my wish list for a long time now and i also bought one from this deal.

i noticed on my amazon wishlist it said its no longer available.  any idea why? is it possible this is being discontinued and they are clearing out stock?

Yes, I was told that it was discontinued.

I purchased the set with the imperial brad point bits, not sure I would see much benefit in the zobo forstner bits plus they only had the metric set available.  I was going to purchase one of these a while ago but then they were sold out, possibly discontinued, before I managed to make the purchase.

I might be wrong but I think they discontinue the sets every few years and release a new set but possibly not right away.  I think the last set was 2011 and this one was from perhaps 2013?  I would guess there might be another one in 2015 with revised contents.

I already have a bunch of the individual pieces, twin box, countersink, etc. but there were a few more items from the set I wanted and they would have cost perhaps 75% of what the set cost so now I have some backups which is good but pretty much assures me that now I will lose one or both within the next 6 months.

Looks like this is what my GF is getting for christmas.  Hope she doesnt like them so I can keep them!

I snagged one, too.  It is just too good of a deal to xpass up.  I got the Zobo version because I already have the Snappy imperial Centrotec set and I have heard great things about the Zobo bits..

@wow: Were you given a reason as to why? I'm curious if it's just like stated above, a refresh of the set is coming, or if there is a different reason.

Nope - just told they were able to offer a discount because they were discontinued.

As I recall, weren't they introduced as a 'limited edition' offering?

Got the one with Zobo. Awesome price and was really on the fence on this two weeks ago! Hope your well WOW.

Just got one with the imperial brad point set!  Thanks for the tip.  Was worried I couldn't find it, period.  Price is a great bonus.

I bought a set two weeks ago.  Could return based on thirty day return policy but concerned I would not get another.  I shot the dealer an email asking if I have any valid options to get the discount.  Maybe I do and maybe I don't.....  For those of you that just pulled the trigger and bought the set, you will not be disappointed.

STOP TEMPTING ME! [mad]

I already had the European Installer kit, but the dang imperial bits in this deal MADE me buy another set! [crying]

I am SOOoooooo sick! [blink]

Cheers,

Frank (Ordered while waking up for work in Nigeria)

Festool is a drug!!!!!!!

I just picked up the installer set with the imperial bit set...........and the CXS kit!

Can't wait to start looking at sanders....

What a great price for an installer's kit!  I already have the one with the brad point bits, but also wanted the 5-piece Zobo.  When I looked at the price of the bits themselves and saw the entire kit was only $125 more, I had to jump on it.  I will pull the Zobo bits out for the shop, and the rest of the kit will either go in my truck, or I might possibly sell it.

Thanks for the link and Thanks to Tool Nut!

Would be good if a UK dealer did some deals on centrotec stuff :) Theres quite a few new pdc owners now that I'm sure would like to invest in centrotec.

lol joiner1970 I've just been looking through centrotec posts on here thinking wouldn't it be a good idea if there were UK deals on them for group members (after I picked myself up having seen the UK price of the sets),,, and been trying to see whats included in a set too as not sure I'd use the sets as they are comprised.

I'd like to see deals where you can build custom sets. You pick and choose on top of a very basic set of say a systainer with the the driver bits and a set of wood &/or masonry bits after which you get a good discount on other sets of centrotec bits, so you pull together your own personal 'sets' as it were just for your specific needs at a reasonable cost. Hopefully the UK guys are listening and looking for ideas to enhance sales - what if they offered great deals on these basic centrotec sets if bought with with drills for example. Oh and do I get a discount for my ideas lol

Mark

Yeah Mark I thought the same ie  Maybe a deal on zobo sets or bundles of drill bit sets.
