Dealing with Cracks in Exterior Paintwork

A couple years ago I painted my exterior doors and windows with Sikkens xd oil based paint. Now some cracks are starting to appear... Just wondering which of the following to do Open the cracks up with a scraper/knife Prime before filling with Sikkens Kodrin Spachtel Prime after filling with kodrin Spachtel

- Open the cracks up with a scraper/knife
- Prime before filling with Sikkens Kodrin Spachtel
