Saturday Jan 10th The Tool Nut will be having a Demo / Q & A on the Vecturo / and any other Festool Product.

The NY Dealer Rep Ken Barone will be on deck with Dave Reinhold, Builder Bob and myself to answer any and all questions on the tools in the Festool Line

There will be other demo's going on during the course of the event

Times for this event will be from 10 AM to 2 PM, Looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones

Looking forward to some time with friends and seeing new faces!! Come on out... It'll be warm at the Nut!

Got back from the event a little while ago. It was great, not because of the new and shiny tools (although I picked up a few things) but because the FOG community is great to hang out with. Tool Nut is everything you could want in a store, tools or otherwise; friendly, helpful, courteous and accommodating.

I met with Dave of the Nut, Dave Reinhold, Ken Nagrod, Sal LiVecchi and a contractorwho helped me choose the correct pad for my RAS115 (Builder Bob? can't believe I forgot your name) and someone who is a hero of the construction trades and has been posting on the FOG forever, Tinker.

If you think Tinker's commentary on this site is great you should make the opportunity to meet him in person, someone who knows how to work with their hands, heart and mind. I have been an Architect and woodworker for 40 years and I wish I had the privilege to work with Tinker when I was starting out. We need more true experts like him to pass on the ability to truly think about your work instead of racing to the end of the day and collect a paycheck.

Thanks again to Festool and the Nut, looking forward to more great events.

Jim

Jim, I really don't know a thing about what i am doing, and never did.  You managed to put words of identification onto some of the things i talked to you about.  Of course, being only 39, i can not remember those words.  I haven't been around long enough to have developed an appreciation for great vocabulary.  I really enjoyed talking with you.  It is always a fun meeting at The Nut House for the new friends i meet as well as the old acquaintances renewed.  And, the guys who sit around behind the counter doing nothing  [poke], they are a great bunch as well.

I will try to round up some pics of some of the projects I described to you.  Some, I think are only on the old slide formats and I have neither the equipment, nor the knowledge (read first sentence) to put them into transferrable photo format.  I do have the one about the unusual fireplace arch. i will put that into another discussion soon.  There are a lot of stories to tell about that one, most of which i won't be putting into a woodworking forum.  I like your stories and it was really interesting hearing an architects tales from a very friendly and non-condescending point of view.
Tinker

Sounds like there was some good folks there. zLooking fwd to seeing some photos

Tinker,

I have the ability to put those slides into a digital format, no stone carving required. I would be happy to do that for you if you wish.

Just sent you a private email with my info.

PS thanks for the kind words, I left my ego at the door a long time ago, life is too short

Dave Reinhold. That's a name you don't hear much anymore. Glad to hear there was a sighting.

Jim, it was great to meet you! I'm glad I could help you with the RAS pad! Today was a great day at ToolNut! These are the types of meet & greets I need every now and again! I absolutely love the Tool Nut staff... They're a great group of guys who work hard from the moment the doors open until they close!

Ken Barone is an awesome guy and a fantastic Rep. He knows his stuff regarding product knowledge!

It was indeed a great day at the Nut, New Friends were meet and old friends shared tips and techniques..

Scott the amazing Reinhold is alive and well and as always great to spend the day with...

Time spent with Ken Barone is always time well spent with the sharing of much info on our favorite toys.

Jim, Malte, Doug, Bob (Builderbob), Ken Nagrod and others and of course that 39 year old Tinker all added to the flavor of the Day.

I want to thank The Tool Nut again for a great day and having on hand its awesome staff to help the day move along smoothly

Jeez, I just saw this thread now!

I wasn't able to make it, nor the last few demo days.  I skip outta town on Saturdays and always find out about the demo too late once plans are already set.  This time I was good to go and then realized I HAD to make it to Florida for two days with the girlfriend.  I did have a blast at least, but bummed I missed all of you.  I haven't seen a bunch of you guys for quite some time now.

Dougie shot me some great photos, put a smile on my face!
