Depth Stop Drill Bit

I ordered and received a Centrotec depth stop drill bit. It looks like the drill/counter sink bit. It has a 0.5mm drill bit installed.

Are there other (smaller) drill sizes that will fit this depth stop unit?

Somehow, I can't believe Festool would limit its customers to only one size drill bit with the depth stop feature.

The Festool product description material seems to be for people who already know everything about the products!

I don't think other sizes will fit. Ialso have the item you mention (but not near me at the moment) And I use it for shelve pin holes. (btw the drill size is 5 mm not 0.5)

AFAIK there are two versions, one with a 3.5mm drill, and the other a 4.5mm.  I don't think the drills are interchangeable.

There are actually three versions that I know of, 3.5mm, 4.5mm, 5mm.  Your are correct, the drills are not interchangeable.

Thanks for the correction on the bit size. It is 5mm. I guess 0.5mm would be a tad whimpy!

What are the Festool part numbers for the 3.5 and 4.5?

492523 for the 3.5mm

492524 for the 4.5mm

It's a bit late here right now, so I won't come with all the correct part numbers, but there are three versions of the drill/countersinks with depthstop (3.5; 4.5, and 5mm), and only one (5mm)  of the bradpoint bit with depthstop.

We have 3 versions INA.

3.5 mm w/ countersink (492523)
4.5 mm w/ countersink (492524)
5.0 mm (492522)

It looked like the 5 mm drill with countersink was discontinued with the introduction of the 4.5mm version. I have one that came with my centrotec 2008 set. Then it couldn't be found using the accesories list on the European festool sites, but it would show up when searching for it by partnumber.

I remember this because there was a thread about it by someone from Australia that needed one for a deck job.

Anyway it is back now and called a BSTA HS D5 CE with partnumber 496451.

(It doesn't show up on the festoolusa site, so I guess it's NAINA)

But the part mentioned in the opening post of this thread is the version without the countersink, and that's only available in 5mm, just like the
self centering centrotec drillbit with the sleeve.
