Details Matter?

I thought you guys kept them as pets to scare off all the other Australian critters that find humans tasty.
They can be so pervasive it's truly scary. Years back I lived in a bungalow at the base of a block that had a creek and many trees around at the back. In the morning you'd wake up with a bunch of them on the ceiling above your head which for the first few seconds when you're waking up would be terrifying! Coming home in the dark at night was also fun!

One thing everyone learns here, is never, ever, put your boots on without bashing the hell out of them first to kick out any freeloaders! Feeling the squish of a sizable huntsman on your toes isn't a nice feeling!

So I saw an article about Mark Wahlberg's new home in Florida which sold for $37M fully furnished. The previous owner had redone a lot of it including the kitchen cabinets and at least the kitchen islands. I looked at the cabinets and blinked. For that price level and the probable cost for the renovations in the cabinet, couldn't they have matched the grain on the cabinets? Or am I just too picky?

Ha ha!!
Maybe that is the look they wanted.
Or maybe they got out-played by someone who is going to benefit from fixing all those defects.
It is a crappy look.

The whole area looks “messy”. Between the prominent and unmatched wood to the busy grain in the countertops, it gives the entire area a slip-shod appearance. I’m not sure I am a fan of dueling islands. I would have to try it out, but in my mind it mandates a great deal of walking-around-an-island-to-get-where-I-need-to-go.
