My Dewalt  625E  started  buzzing  and a few small pieces  seemed to be ejected. Not sure if  this  was plastic or some  cherry wood  shavings.

The noise seemed to  come from the  fan area  as did  the ejections.

Had the router  inverted in  a  table  removing a  lot of  material  with a trend  50mm  rotatip  guided  profiler.  Which  is very sharp.
Nothing  heavy and no  warming of the motor unit  casing at all.

I'm pretty  sure  air is  forced  from the vents  at the base.
But could wood  chips or shavings  have cause this?

Getting inside  this router seems  pretty difficult.

Finally something a failure other than a Kapex or Carvex.

Does the router lose power, stutter or struggle when altering on the speed switch. If so its just the magnet inside, it's a common problem for the dewalt router when being used inverted.
Mine is permanently in a table and it gave up after 6 months, it is however fixed in 10minutes.

It runs  fairly smooth  on  low rpm's.  But at full speed  you hear a  sound  that you know just  isn't meant to be there.
I had no dust extraction and the insert  orifice  was over sized also. So user error  possibly  the cause here.
I've left it in for repair.
So user error  possibly  the cause here. Though  the guy at the repair center thinks its the bearing.  He also said air at the center  of the  cast  housing  where  the arbour  protrudes  is sucked  in, which I wasn't aware off.

Before you spend any money have a look at this thread on the UK workshop site, this is what happened to my router, and everyone I know that has had a 625 or tend t11 has had the same problem.

The noise it makes makes it sound like something serious, like bearings, but the magnet that is part of the electronic switch just needs securing better while it is being used inverted.

Don't know how to add a link on the iPad so the name of the thread is as follows.

Router woes: ANYONE ELSE WITH A T10, T11 or DW625 HAD THIS? : General Woodworking - UKworkshop.co.uk

I thought that it was the bearings that had gone on mine because of the grinding noise it was making, but I got it fixed in about 10 minutes.
