I think this one may work, based on scouting the reviews. However, I would have to do some work to mod the end that connects to the Kapex. It is currently sized to slot inside the Kapex port; I want it to go outside the port.

I did get zapped a few times in the old shop, but that was before the CT and the anti-static hose that came with it. I just had the silver hose and a cheap "Shop vac". I don't really remember what it was that shocked me? It wasn't all the time, just certain situations, router maybe?

The zapping is much more prevalent when you use the vac for an extended time, say 10-15 minutes continuously, it takes a while for the charge to build. If it's on for a few minutes and then off then the charge just dissipates and dies a natural death.

Along with my Festool vacs I also have/use an older Milwaukee stainless vac and a Fein Turbo II both were supplied with non AS hoses. I receive shocks from the hoses all of the time even though they are plugged into grounded receptacles. The point is if you touch the hose and you're not standing in water, you won't get a shock because you haven't completed the circuit. It's similar to grabbing the hot lead of a live wire while you're wearing tennis shoes...you're failing to complete the circuit so nothing happens.

However, touch or come very close to touching a grounded object while you're holding the hose and you will complete the circuit.

I usually get zapped while I'm vacuuming an object with one hand wrapped around the hose and then I accidentally touch the band saw table or the jointer bed with an elbow or a knee...ZAP.

My work-around has always been to grab the frame or the bed of whatever object I'm going to vacuum and then turn on the vac. This completes the circuit and will drain the charge from the hose before it achieves a high enough potential to ZAP you.

I've been thinking about swapping the 2M x 36mm hose on the Kapex for a 50mm version to see if that improves the dust collection. I'm thinking a 50mm non AS hose will work just fine.

Last time I got zapped sanding was with the hand sanding block and the 21mm non-AS hose, sanding between coats of poly in a dry basement in an Iowa winter standing on a vinyl floor.  Everything was fine until I got near the dryer.  Or the file cabinet.  Or went to turn off the lights.

I developed a habit/quirk a number of years ago that I will ground myself with my knuckle on the screw of a light switch or the metal corner protector of drywall, or any other grounded-ish metal object any time I stand up or walk around in the winter.  It can be almost as bad in the summer, too, unless the corn is high and the humidity along with it...

Sorry for hijack, but I have an older 36mm non anti static hose attached to my Kapex and the connector is split where it attaches to the tool.  Is the connector to replace this part number  # 487721 discussed in this thread?

Re. the question about routers:

- the 1400 was my first one (I thought it would be a jack of all trades), but it did disappoint me. It is heavy, and when using with a rail, it needs to be elevated with a small plastic piece. What happened to me (and I saw to other people as well) is that while routing, this piece would sunk under the weight of the router, the bit would be too deep, ruining projects...
A fix is to make yourself a sole customised for the rail and screw it each time you use the rail = too much hassle for me...

- then I bought a 1010: very happy

- And later bought a 2200 with the systainer kit of easily swappable soles = absolutely fantastic! (cable cannot be detached though, so this requires care).

I think the best in to have a 1010 + a 2200 or a 1010 alone. I would go for the new version of the 1010.

I have two of these hoses, one that I cut up into smaller sections for what you are talking about.

I bought this to replace the Bosch End
