DF500 Thickness stop

Hello all,

Hope you are well,

I just have something I would like to ask and I know this would be the best place for it

Is there a replacement thickness stop you can get to make sure you make central cuts for working on 18mm sheet material as it only has 20mm and I don’t want to keep cutting from the face all the time,

As long as Im understanding you.  No, nothing that you can buy.  Part of the problem is most material can vary by several thousands in the same sheet and even more from sheet to sheet.  I have posted before about centering your Dominos.  Warning you are most likely about to get a bunch of posts saying you dont need to center your dominos... Either way if you want to see the most accurate and easy way I have found to center dominos check THISthread.  About 3/4 of the way down you will see my post.

On Etsy, there's a seller doing imperial measurement thickness stops. It might be worth asking if custom thickness stops could be ordered. I believe it's ToolCurve.

Theoretically, another option is the Domiplate from Seneca; it pre-sets to center on 1/2" and 3/4" material.  The 3/4" plate side would be at least a little closer to the center of 18mm than the 20mm setting on the domino, yes?

I happen to have two Domiplates because I bid on two simultaneous auctions on eBay and didn't think I'd win both of them.  I should probably post one of them for sale some time soon...

I know a lot of people say set it to 20mm and then work from the face but I don't want to do that I would just like to pic it up and use it you know,

I have looked at the plates before but what I don't like is if I am doing a cabinet I would have to keep taking it off where I can just flip the fence up..

in a wool of 3D printers you think some one would have done this by now

The DIY plywood ones work good and are repeatable.  Only issue is if the sheets vary from one batch to another you might have to tweak it if you want "true" dead center spacing, Otherwise you may end up being off the thickness of a standard piece of copy paper.  It really depends on what you are doing and the tolerance.  but the PLywood jig or caliper method works very well
