DF700 for Face Frames

Hello All,

I am thinking about selling my DF500.  If I do, I will buy a DF700.  I seem to have a need for larger tenons, plus I just want a new tool.

However, I do use my 500 for face frame construction.  Does anyone use the 700 for building 3/4 inch face frames ?  I realize the 8 mm domino is a little large; but I think it would be fine.

Thank you.

Brian

Seneca makes an adapter for the DF700 to use the smaller 6mm and I think even the 5mm bits from your DF500 for those smaller mortises.

Keep the 500 and buy the 700.  If you have “use cases” for both applications.

Many more here have both. So you will be in good company

I use the DF 500 for 3/4" face frame construction using 8 mm Dominoes and it works well. I've never tried the DF 700 for the same purpose as it is a lot larger & heavier but it should also work well.

These are all 8 mm Dominos and they fit well within the confines of 18 mm ply.
