Diagnol Measurement of Sys #1 Empty?

Classic at the extreme points is 17 1/2"

T-Loc from rear point/corner to center of front round is 17 5/8"

Both measured at the top edge.

I don't have one in front of me, but according to the Festool website a sys1 is 395mm x 295mm

therefore the square root of (395 x 395) + (295 x 295) = 493 which is about 19 3/8"

I only mention this because my answer is so far from the one you posted (and because work is very slow today!)

I took the outside measurements whereas I presume you took the inside measurements.

There's also a draft on these (to remove the mold) so the bottom is slightly smaller than the opening.

Yes, probably a 1/16th to an 1/8th less at the bottom.

The math doesn't work because of the ins and outs.

Also if you are looking to put a tool diagonally remember that the width of the tool will effectively shorten that diagonal. Hope that makes sense.

Yea I am looking at the measurement to determine if my 16" Combination square will fit

I just checked using a rule to represent the combo square. I had a rule 1 1/4" wide and 16 3/4" of length would fit. You are porbably good to go on the combo square.
