Looking to get the AGC 18 grinder kit and festool is showing current model is 577700 but stores don't seem to have this model and have 576823.  Anyone know the difference between the two of these kits?

The 576823 was packaged in a SYS³ Systainer with 5.2 Ah batteries and is no longer available according to Festool USA.

The 577700 is packaged in a SYS³ Systainer with 5.0 Ah batteries.

I don't know what the difference is between the batteries but the packaging is different as are the part numbers.

It’s weird. 576 is still available to purchase from dealers but 577 is no where to be found and looks like batteries in 577 are little lower rating

The 576823 used to be available from Festool USA. Now they only offer the 576824 which is the Basic Set grinder without batteries or charger. That's strange for Festool... [eek]

My guess is that they will soon release a Plus Set and it will contain the newer 5.0 batteries.

Thats what it looks like. dealers show 576 plus set in stock and available.  Hartville has it .  Wonder if i should wait for the 577 kit

They should just let the dealer complete the set. Lots of exotic Festool tools don't have high turn-around rates for small dealer. People know this so they even avoid buying the exotics from smaller dealers because they know they will get older battery packs that might have sat in overheated warehouses for an extended period of time.

It would also avoid the endless SKU spam for each and every little battery change.

Called festool and it was useless. Basically was told that only one sold in US is the 476824 basic and 577700 is not available, no info available either. Ended up ordering one from Amazon 576823 kit.
