Other than the price, I can't seem to find any difference between the two on Toolnut website.  A little help?

I have the 630. The 635 is the newer version of the 630.But different magazine and shoot up to 1 3/8"
I'm suprise to see the 630 still available, witch is a really good nailler.

Jon,

I have the larger Cadex.  It's in the same category as the Grex 650 - in size, quality, and price.  But here's where it gets interesting...  I went to a woodworking show where I got to handle all of the Grex and Cadex 23g pinners.  I was completely convinced that I wanted the smaller size before the show.  However after handling them, I found that my fingers kept hitting the safety trigger inadvertently and causing unintentional firings with the smaller Grex and Cadex.  NOT good.  All was fine with the larger ones.  Since I have smaller hands, don't know why.

My suggestion - go and handle them before buying.  You might change your mind.

Regards,

Dan.

I picked up the p635 from the tool nut a few months back. All I have to say is why did I wait so long. My old bostich pinner was very inconsistent, many of the pins fired from the bostich would sit proud of the material. And trying to set them would leave a whole larger than an 18gauge nail. I love the small size of the p635 and never needed to fire long pins, I generally use 1". The only feature I wish the p635 had was a dry fire lockout. There is a window in the magazine so you can see if your running low but the lock out would be killer.

Just yesterday the firing pin broke on my 6 month old bostich brad gun so now I have an excuse to call up Sean and order the grex 18gauge.

I don't think you can go wrong with buying a grex, cadex or Omar gun. They all are really good guns from all the articles Ive see.

Dan, there aren't any local dealers that sell grex nailers (there website search engine was down, so I'm not that certain).  I would like to hold them prior to purchase, but I've found the FOG to be a pretty reliable resource for feedback.

I have an old senco that hisses each time I fire it, and sometimes doesn't even fire a pin.  I don't think I need anything longer than 1 3/16 so the 635 might be too much gun.
