I know Bosch sells one that has always gotten great reviews. However, there is a price to pay. I believe that the Bosch version is almost 10 times the cost of the lower end versions you posted links to. Not sure what the problems are with the Wixey brand as other Wixey digital tools seem to be very accurate. I have a Wixey digital planer gauge I installed on my planer and it comes to within .001 or .002 of what I get with another digital caliper I own. I'd say that's accurate.

Yes, I know of the two Bosch versions but looking for a mini version with a mini price.

I have the one in your second link, quirky, not happy with it. It keeps changing values even when it's locked down.

I recently bought the Bosch GAM220MF.  I needed it as the small ones do not really give you much of a reference line till you position the inside angle knuckle.  It's fine for finding the angle but not really accurate enough (for me) on longer distances.  They are expensive but the price has dropped and International Tool has them for $157ish.

Aren't there sometimes where its size makes it unusable?  Like you'd almost need both!

Of course size matters regarding use... why do think I have 85+ systainers  [blink]

Starret Pro-Site CP505E-12" is the best.
It also gives angles for mitre cuts.
Only $148.

I looked at one Starret but not that model.  I own Starret micrometers, good name but I wonder why accuracy isn't mentioned anywhere in its specs?

That's similar to the Bosch GAM220MF.

I have the CMT version that looks quite a lot like the Starret. It's accurate to .05° There is only one bubble level on the the top on my version the Woodcraft version has two..

It's around $45 at woodcraft.
