I am building a dining table for my son. First time I have made a table like this. The table top is walnut with oak trim and the apron is walnut with oak inlay. The legs are Red oak that I have made from reclaimed barn floor joists 3x3x36. He wanted the table to be 36 inches tall so he can use stools and wanted the apron to be 3 inches. The table top is 42x62 and I have a 18 inch extension that makes it 80 inches long. I am at the point of preparing to assemble/attach the apron and legs. I have not found a bracket I like that I can use to attach the legs to the apron. What do you guys use?
Also, I am considering 4-5 coats of Arm R Seal satin as the oil/finish. Have any of you used product? Were you happy with the the look?
Thanks in advance for comments and suggestions.
