Do original Systainers fit on the base of the Sys roll?  I was looking at some pictures online and noticed an original Systainer sitting on the base of a Sys roll but when I went looking for more images I couldn't find any.

Do they actually mount to the base of the Sys roll?

I don't think any of the Sys types actually mount to the base. This video is quite good at showing everything about it. I do ot know for sure if the Sys- Roll has been updated since 2013.  The Sortainer that is placed on it in the video is a Classic design so Classic Systainers will also fit.

Correct, they just kinda hang out on the base of the cart.  I have two of them, and a number of the Roll boards.  My router-specific SYS-Roll has my OF 1400 in an original Systainer on the bottom of the stack and others piled and latched up from there.

I guess what I mean is do the feet on the base fit in the indentations on the cart?

The answer to your question if the original Systainer will fit on the SYS Roll, is YES. But there's no mechanical fastener to hold the Systainer to the SYS Roll like on the original SYS-Cart or any of the newer SYS-Carts. Note that the SYS Roll comes with a strap to hold all versions of Systainers in place on the SYS Roll.
