Do you find splinterguard edge hard to see? Anyone sell alternative colors?

I find it a little hard to see the edge on the standard clear splinterguard. Does Festool sell splinterguards in different colors? Anyone have any tips or tricks for making the edge stand out a little more clearly?

First welcome to the FOG.
Second, when Festool 1st came out there were black. Then they came out “clear” so you can see your mark. And the now with the switch the adhesive doesn’t stick.
Long story short pick up some Makita guide rail strips. Also the glue is better.
Clean off old strip with acetone.

I take a green or red Sharpie and rub it against the cut edge of the splinter strip. Blue and black Sharpie kind of blends in with the pencil marks. It only lasts for a few cuts though because of the blade kissing it all the time.

I just mark maybe a 2" strip on each end of the rail.

I like the clear better than black. I find it easier to distinguish the strip from the pencil mark.

I haven't had any issues seeing it but I try to make sure I have good contrast.

What if you color the underside of the strip? Haven't tried it myself, just a thought. The strip is translucent, so you'll be able to see the color.

I agree that black would also probably hard to see or distinguish. I like that the strip is translucent. I just wish it had a little color to it so that the edge would 'pop' a little more. The clear kind of disappears on me. Maybe Festool could offer one or two alternative tints. Still translucent, but maybe a red tint to help with contrast.

Green tint so it’s not perfectly clear but still translucent enough to see marks through.
