So I have a local liquidation company close buy that sales a lot of Amazon returns and such. Well I stopped in today and they had a Makita 55'' rail for $35 new in the box I figured at that price why not try it. It seems like a little better rail the anti slip strips are wider as are the glide strips on the top plus I really like the black splinter guard verse the clear what do you guys think?

Is the guide rail flat and straight?  I saw many negative comments about the Makita guide rails when looking through reviews.  Some of these reviewers mentioned using the Festool guide rail for the Makita track saw.

Although I haven't used it yet it seems to be it lays nice and flat. I laid it back to back with my festool 55'' and it was straight.

I've heard a lot of complaints about Makita guide rails not being straight. I find the translucent splinter guard very practical when aligning to marks on the material.

the anti-tip tab makes some accessories not work. i cut mine off.

i have a 118" makita that i use as a beater rail. cutting rough ply etc.

Well I guess I dodged a bullet mine seems pretty straight. I only bought it because it was so cheap but with what you guys have said and a few YouTube vids I seen about peoples rails not being straight I definitely won't be considering anymore of there rails.
