Does the Kapex Miter Clamp work with a Makita LS1019L?

I am looking at purchasing a Makita LS1019L miter saw and was wondering if the Kapex Miter Clamp can be used with it?  I have a cheap Ryobi miter saw I was able to drill out the clamp hole some on to get the festool clamp to fit.  Not sure if this is possible as I don't have anywhere locally that I can look at the Makita saw.

It will not fit. The diameter of the clamp post is too large. I was able to sand down the post to make it fit. It isn't very useful because of the location of the clamp hole on the saw and the relatively short reach of the Festool clamp. The clamp just barely reaches to the edge of the saw table.

Is it possible for you to fabricate/attach/bolt some sort of a shop-made base or anchor or bar (that the Kapex hold-down can fit into) behind the fence, and use the hold-down (still with enough reach for shorter pieces)? There are no better mitre saw clamps out there than the Kapex's though it is pricey. Any non-quick release design hold-down is not going to be used as we know.
