I purchased my domino 2 year and 11 months ago. I never could get the mortises to line up so it basically sat in the tool box. Finally sent it in and get it back tomorrow. Very quick turn around. Wondering if this was a issue and how excited should I be to get it back!

I just got my 700 back from Festool Service to fix a slanted mortise issue. The machine came back essentially fixed. I hope your results are as good.

getting ready to buy a 500 and have seen these alignment problem frequently... just can't get my head around why some new ones would even need ANY repair/adjustment... Harbor freight I would understand...

The Domino, just like any tool, can not achieve a zero problem situation.  There are on occasion tool issues and there are more commonly usage issues. That is why a whole bunch of guys are here to volunteer their type and give expertise and learned advice.

PS:  I typed a response earlier that I thought might come across the wrong way.  This post replaces that deleted post.

Did not get to see the deleted post. A friend of mine had a brand new car that required a new transmission after less than 6 months of use!

I have had my DF500 since 2013, so far so good from Day 1.

When I sent my 700 in to fix a slanted mortise, I included a couple of wood pieces I had joined to demonstrate the problem.

Festool returned the 700 and the wood pieces they joined.  Their joint was perfect. My post service test joints were good but not perfect. This, to me, shows their technique is better than mine.

My much older 500 never had a problem.
