Have been using my domino 500 in upright mode on face of boards today and used the additional stop for the first time. Despite tightening the thumb screws as tightly as possible still did not feel as rigid as I would have liked/expected. I suspect that this would feel more robust and rigid if it was in metal not plastic/nylon. Has anyoone any ideas on this or know of an aftermarket stop that resolves this concern. [huh]

From day one I never felt it to be unstable. I hold the angle base to the work surface with one hand, push done on the Domino from the rear with the other. I do have some form of fence that the metal base is against.

I sometimes use a clamp-on straightedge set back 10mm from the domino centerline as a guide.  I've never had a problem with instability.  You DO have to guide the DF 500 correctly with the plunging hand grasping it by the Plug-it connector rather than by the barrel.
