Domino buyers remorse

I used the Domino for the fabrication of the face frame pieces, with the exception of the trapped pieces, where I used pocket screws.

Sorry to be off topic, but there is no such thing as a trapped piece on a faceframe. ...

There is when you forget the two horizontal drawer separators, and then go back and put them in.

I thought I would give an update just to close the loop on this topic. I ended up selling the Domino and Cutter Assortment. With the funds from the sale and some of my own my money I got an MFT/3, clamps, Qwas dog set and a much need Dust Collector (not a CT actual shop dust collector). I am very happy with this decision, thank you for everyone's help!

I can imagine. I have decided to leave the fence off and just use the Qwas dogs and rail system.

Maybe not right away, but I am thinking that once you discover how well other toys in your barn fit in with the MFT and puppies, you will be realizing how the Domino just might fit in to the system.  I think, for the moment, since you bought the Domino first, you made a good decision the way you went.  It takes time to realize all of the potentials.  [scratch chin] [scratch chin] [scratch chin] [doh]

You'll love the MFT and dogs, completely changed the way I work!

...and thanks for the Domino, can't wait to put it to work [big grin]

My least used Festool is my domino but no regrets buying it ..

I used it in place of mortise and tenon joints in furniture, and then went back to M&T joints because I missed making them ..

I use it for alignments on counter tops, all sorts of odd places ..  its a clever tool ..  Love it for miter's ..

+1, unbeatable for miter's.

Lots of people get hung up on using the domino just for panel alignment and case work.  The Domino work great when making furniture and tons of other projects.

How I feel about my Domino:

You think Heston was passionate about his guns? Just think what he would have been like if he had ever had a Domino!  [thumbs up]

I was going to respond with "Go ahead, make my mortice" ... but then I realised I had the wrong actor [embarassed]

Perhaps not, the "make my day" guy talks to chairs and he could use his Domino to build a lot of chairs and have a party [wink]
