Hi everybody,

Using Festool Domino to join a board wider than 50 mm / 2"/ may require the use of two Dominos for a strong joint. You may determine and mark their place just so - relying on your experience or you may need to do some calculations. Since calculations are tedious, I decided to make my life easier and developed a small spreadsheet to help me to accomplish this task. I use it now for a year or so and find it very useful.
I intended to write some more detailed explanations but never find the time for this. In spite of that I decided to post this file with some minimal explanation and I hope you will find out how it works. It is really not so complicated. In order to use the Domino calculator you need a Microsoft Excel.

There are some drawings inside - this are nor exact drawings but just a help to visualize the dimensions.

You can enter your data in the area that is surrounded by a red line. You can use only one row at a time. If there is some old data - delete it.

1. Determine the Domino size that you are going to use
2. Enter the width of the board on the row that corresponds to the Domino you have already chosen. Watch the results
3. By default the distance between the Domino edge and the edge of the board is set to be equal to the thickness of the Domino. You can change this by entering positive or negative numbers as a modifier. Watch the results

Well that's it.

Please try to find out how it works before you post any questions. I am afraid if there are too many questions I will be not able to answer them all.
