I have the DF500, and I'm considering getting the 700 for a project I have coming up. Are the cross stops compatible from one to the other? that would be the only reason I would get the set vs the domino only.

Erick is correct they just need to be flipped around to use the 500 on the 700. They are marked to show which way for each machine.

Ooooo, well that makes me feel bad. Thanks for straightening it out!

If you bought the 500 before the 700 came out the cross stops will not work. They changed the design when they introduced the 700

That is what I thought was stated when the 700 came out. I got my 500 set long before the 700 came out. I was surprised last fall after I got a 700 non set, that the cross stops from my 500 fit the 700.

I know I bought my 700 with the impression that I did not need to purchase the set  I soon found out that the ones from my 500 did not work out.  So one day I'll find a set for the 700

the cross stop on the left with the square pin housing is the new one

I see what the difference is now. It was my understanding that the old tracks would not mount on the 700.
The tracks are the same, it is the pin stops that are different. The center of the bit on the 700 is higher above the track mounting point than the 500.

Magellan. Have you tried sliding the moveable part off, flipping it over and reinstalling that back on and then see if it fits the 700?

Dongar. Will the newer squared guide pin piece fit on the reference slide that the round one fits on? Bit the squared ok holder fits both pieces, people with the older round pin holders could just buy a new square pin holder to work on both machines instead of having to buy all new cross stops.

I'm attaching pictures that shows how the squared pin holding piece is changed to fit BOTH the 500&700

Yes the base seems to be identical but the new pins are about $30 apiece so $60 for the pair and the whole cross stop is $70. I think for $10 it would be better to have 2 sets and not have to switch them. These prices are from my memory so may not be exact.

Gotcha. I hadn't done the pricing. Hopefully all reading this are better informed. I am!
