C’mon Ben, flying dominos can be really dangerous if you get one in the eye. [big grin]

The potential danger was at 8:13 or so when he wasn't wearing any eye protection while sighting close to the scale under tension. If the wood snapped, it could fly....

My hearing ability is going downhill with aging and so that's the first thing I put on.

It always makes sense to have your safety glasses.  I always shake my head when I see people using Festool and Mikra sanders without dust mask or a respirator.  The dust extractor are good but it shouldn’t forego the need to wear a dust mask.

Typically when I'm in the shop I've got the ear muffs, hard hat, safety glasses, respirator, ear plugs, steel tow shoes and shin guards!  Makes for bad video though, so I remove all guards for filming clarity

Back on topic.  Maybe you can check with Timberwolf to see if they’ll loan you a Mafell Doweller to compare it with the DF 500.  All the comparison videos are in German, Dutch and Russian.

It would be very cool to have a video in English comparing these Mafell unit agianst the DF 500.  I’m pretty sure the Mafell unit would win but not every application.

If some nice vendor on the site *cough* [member=48572]Shane Holland[/member]  *cough* would be willing to lend me a Mafell Doweller, I'd love to do a comparison video.  Very curious to see how they compare.
