Here we go. Here's that Heads Up. Here's that FYI........Festool is offering a 10% sale on the Domino joiners and accessories, beginning May 1 until June 30th.
So, for those about to buy or those sitting on that proverbial fence, if you can hold off  just another couple of weeks, you can save some decent coin. And those who already own the      Domino, its time to store up on the accessories - tenons, cutters, fences.
Again, this is a heads up, no rush, sale doesn't start for another 10 days; :) just something to consider.

More info to follow.....

Rats... I just purchased the Domino XL and the accessories that I wanted. I could have saved just over $100 [sad]  Would this sale include the empty domino systainer?

Thanks,

I on the LV Canada site they've announced this as well and will obviously happen in Canada as well, which likely won't stir many sales as most Festool items went up by 8 to 13% on April 1st due to the lower Loonie vs the Greenback.

For example, I just bought on March 31st (the last day of pre-price increases) the Domino XL set for $1438.  They went up by 11.47% on April 1st and their current price is $1603 which means that come May 1st the 10% discounted price will be $1442.  I saved $4 basically.  Woopie!  [tongue]  This seems to apply to XL assortment systainer and the extra bits I bought as well.  Pretty well all are within pennies or a buck or two to what the pre-increase price was versus what they will be on sale for.

But this is Canadian pricing, I wonder how many Festool USA retailers are gonna have to deal with people returning their Domino related wares bought within the past month and simply turning around and re-buying come May 1st in the US to save some bucks.  They probably should have helped avoid this by making the sale one month later to start on June 1st with the announcement not until sometime in May so as to avoid this potential problem for their retailers.  Would this not make sense?  [huh]

While there is possibly some differences between the accesories that are eligible for sale from those in Canada versus the US, the product page for the Domino empty systainer with seperators on the LV Canada site does show this item as being on the 10% off list of items.

NOTE:  You may have to toggle for the LV "Canada" site at the top right portion of the page to view if you are accessing this link from the US.

It would have been nice to save $100, but personally I would not go through the hassle and cost of shipping. Besides I would not do that to my dealers.

Please don't return and repurchase if you bought since 4/1. Please contact your dealer to sort it out.  [wink]

Seems to me with Festool's 30 day money back guaranty one should expect to get a credit for the difference, no?

Yes indeed. As Shane stated, please reach out to your dealer.

All our customers will be taken care of.

Happy hunting!

I think that is why Shane states anyone that purchased between 4/1 (4/1 plus 30 days is May first) and now should contact their dealer?

Many people bought a domino just prior to April 1st to beat the price increase.  Technically, that puts the May 1st sale out of reach of the 30 day guarantee.  What Shane is suggesting, and correct me if I'm wrong, is rather than physically returning your domino now for a full refund and waiting for May 1st to repurchase, they will refund the difference based on post April 1st price increase.

FYI. I bought some domino packs to replenish my systainer last week from amazon. They were already at the discounted price at 18 and change.

I thought it was weird that they weren't at 21.00 like everyone else. Oh well, maybe I got the early bird sale...  ;)

Whenever Festool has a sale, effective a certain date, there will obviously always be customers who bought prior to the sale. As always, I will honor the sale price for those customers; its simply the fair thing to do. No worries, buy with confidence.

Say what? Amazon selling Festool at sale prices before the actual May 1st sale date? Surprised? I'm not and I'm betting some other Festool dealers aren't either.

Reminds me of that wonderful line from Casablanca, spoken by Claude Rains  as Captain Renault: "I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here." ;)

It was weird. I went in on Wednesday looking to order some 6x40s and saw the 18.90 price and said "I will go ahead and order them and save 2 bucks!"  Then I saw the threads on here on Saturday and went back to amazon and they were at 21.00.

I have seen that before, but not on anything festool from what I can recall.

I don't use Amazon in less I really need to.  Mostly these days for books.  The reason for that is all the book stores closed in my area because of Amazon  [eek]

Support small business and local if you can.

Festool, I use Bob.  If I ever have a question or need a price adjustment, he has always just handled it.

Speaking of adjustments Bob you've got mail.

I throw almost all of the dealers on here my business. Tom, Bob, Peter/Sean (tool nut) and others are excellent dealers to work with.

I also live in the "perfect storm" for Amazon consumers. We are smack dab in the middle of lots of distribution centers and get a lot of items the next day after ordering.

I often try to support the "local guy" but now a days, most of the people I deal with also have amazon and/or Etsy stores online.

Oh yeah, and the local Woodcraft and Rocklers get my business as well.

Cheers. Bryan.

Are you sure the price you saw on Amazon wasn't a post-April 1st price?  Many items actually went down in price after April 1.  Like the MFT quick clamps are now $38 but were $40.  QUICK CLAMPS

I was going to purchase a Domino and extractor today while I was at my local dealing to pick up some other things. I emailed him yesterday to see if I could get the May pricing so it wouldn't delay the purchase.

The answer was no.

So I guess the "contact your dealer to sort it out" only applies to the ones already purchased. For $121 my $1,500 deal goes on hold.

He did say my question got to him before his rep even told him about the promotion. Strike one for FOG!

I think it might be "crazy Amazon pricing". Here is the receipt (and received the goods a day later:

Now the amazon page shows the $21.00 price again.

And here-in lays? lies? the "problem" - the sale starts May 1, but the products are all available now. You/customers want or need the tools/accessories now, not in 10 days. You want the sale price, but don't want to wait the 10 days when the sale actually begins. Dealer/dealers want to make the sale and not lose or tick off their customers. Festool - rightly so and for many good reasons has a firm date on when the sale begins and does want- rightly so and for many good reasons, dealers to abide by that date. If this was a new, unavailable product, this would not be an issue.
I will not speak for your dealer (whomever they are) but I don't think having a firm sale date is all that different across the board for many companies, as possibly frustrating as it may be sound to you.
