I think it is. I made the carcasses below from 16mm melamine using 5mm dominoes, but with pocket holes as well. 18mm would be much better, but I would definitely incorporate some elements to stop it racking. Even the 3mm MDF back that was tacked in helped a lot.

Sorry I can't help much with domino spacing. I used some "every so often" with pocket holes inbetween, as I didn't expect there to be much load bearing.

If you are doing thicker solid wood, or narrow solid word, then dowels or dominos are nice.
But for sheets, then the domino ma not be as appropriate as a Zeta-P2 and the Clampex or Tenso.

And then you will eventually be looking at TruePosition puck light jig.
... So you might as well start now.

Im not a melamine sort of guy, but if it were me, Id use 4 dominos per joint they do make a melamine glue I use some of that.  As I said though Im not a big melamine guy. I don't have much experience with it.

What Holmz writes it is true. But it's expensive. For casual connections, I use Lamello biscuits and solvent adhesive . It will work with Domino. You do not stick melamine , but beech wood and pressed sawdust . Not to worry . For every 10-12 cm I would have given one biscuit . I wish good luck .

I've used melamine glue but I probably won't again.  It will stick somewhat to melamine but the joint is weak and will fail with a sharp nock.  I prefer to remove the melamine and use wood glue in the joint.  Or you could just depend on the dominos.  There are also special conformant screws made for particle board.  They hold well.  You can even get special stick on covers to cover the screw heads.  A few of them and some dominos would make solid joints.

Expensive is relative.
zeta compared to domino can be in the context of "in addition to", or "Instead of".
One would not get the zeta "instead of" a 700...
And getting a 500 "in addition to" seems odd.

If mostly when one is starting with neither, that it is worth thinking about. Otherwise it does get expensive.
