Domino Stop Latches

The edges of my boards do not align after cutting Dominos.  So the manual says the stop latches (aka stop dogs) are perfectly spaced from the center of the mortise hole.  If you do get misalignment, use the special ones (which are included).

I find the special ones and measure them.  They measure 7.3 mm and 6.7 mm.  They are dedicated left and right.  The ones on the Domino measure the same (same left, same right).

I don’t understand this.  It seems I would be replacing stops with identical ones.  I can understand if the left had a 7.3 and a 6.7 mm (same for the right).  Then I could mix them.

Both lefts measure 7.3 mm.  Both rights measure 6.7 mm.
I tried them anyways.  One at a time and both.  No difference.  Still get misalignment.

What am I not understanding here?

i had the same problem a while ago. swapping out the stops didnt solve it, so i let festool service sort it out for me. they changed something about the eccentrity of the motor or something (that you definitely cannot do at home) and it works well now.

Well my problem has been solved. 

Within 48-hours of posting my stop latch issues I got a call from 3 different Festool service people (Shane, Lester and David).
They said there must have been a mix up in the stop latches supplied with my unit.  The sent 4 more by UPS and I received them today.

Now that is first class service!  Very impressive.
