Domino usage question

Ok, I think I get it now.  Again, simplest is best.  I use these FastCap shims a lot.  Looks like another use for them.

There you go Rick. That's exactly what I did, same spacer too. I use those all the time around the shop. I have them in inch and metric.

To shim the preset thickness gauge (or a router turret), I usually use one or a combination of the DF500 dominoes (4mm to 10mm).

Dry fit complete. By my count that's 40 twin mortises, 80 in all, that all lined up off pencil lines. I really harnessed my Domino fu on this one.

For a hack with a jobsite table saw, no jointer or planer, I'm really pleased with how this is coming along.

Based on the drawing in the first post, the top slats are going along the length, so why the Domino slots in the top rails?

That piece was meant to be for one of the shelves. Mistakes were made.
