Domino XL Calibration

Hi,

I've just tried to calibrate my new Domino XL using the additional guide I found through these forums.

Out of the box the alignment wasn't quite right, so i did the gauge alignment test on page 20. The bottom was around 1.5mm to the right, so I needed to move the sight gauge left, however the gauge was already nearly to the left with little room.

I've managed, with three hands, to hold the gauge hard left and scew it tight. This has improved it, but they are still consistantly around 0.5mm off.

I can make the odd one align if it twist the wood, but I don't think this counts. I never get one with the bottom line off to the left, which I would expect if it was central.

Is there anything more I can do to fix this?

I've attached an image of an example. It could be that as I'm new to woodworking, the engineer in me is looking for tighter tolerances!

Thanks in advance.

Robin

Reach out to the dealer you bought it from (if it is within the 15 day window in the UK), otherwise contact Festool UK to work with you.

Cheers. Bryan.

I had a similar issue with my XL. I did some trimming to the site window to get it adjusted correctly.

[unsure] I'm not brave enough to take a knife to it. I've emailed the dealer and I'll see what they say!

My retailer told me to contact Festool, but I was away in Canada for a week. When I got back Festool UK were great and did a like for like swap. Got it back on Wednesday and this evening is the first time I have had chance to test it. It's bang on first time, no tweaking. See the pic, and I got much closer in this shot!  :) Now it's time to complete the projects that I bought it for :)

Just wanted to post to say thanks for the advice and also that Festool made it easy.
