The big brown truck stopped at my house this Tuesday with a surprise visit from the Domino XL, DF700 joiner. I'm not part of the test group, so this was a bit of an unexpected surprise for me. This might be considered sacrilegious and result in ensuing death threats against me for my lackadaisical attitude, but I was so busy that I didn't even open the boxes until late late that night. It wasn't until yesterday that I had the time to finally drag it down to the workshop to take a closer look at it.

I must say that I am duly impressed. The technology of the DF700 is just as great a leap forward in technology as the DF500 was 5 years ago. I'm not impressed easily, but suffice it to say, that I am impressed once again.

I imagine that in the coming weeks we will be reading about many test users sharing information about the day-to-day usage of the DF700. So I leave it to them to present this information. What I do is different. I tear things apart, and discuss those aspects not normally visible to the average user or buyer.

I spent the day yesterday compiling my first technical impressions of the DF700 joiner. I wrote this description up at another forum. With Shane's permission, here is the link to that discussion. www.WoodworkingCafe.com

If anyone has any technical questions about the DF700, I will happily answer them here in in this FOG thread.
