I’ve been wanting to make a set of these for I-don’t-know-how-long.

I remember playing Dominos as a kid, but now I can’t remember how. I’ll have to look up the rules... I’m sure there are many variations.

This little project made me look more closely at Domino tenons than I ever had before, which was interesting. On the 10mm Dominos, “Festool” is centred on probably 95% of them. About 15% of my stock is too long to fit into the fixture I made and the rest are a snug fit. There is some interesting beech in my stock - most is typical, but some is streaky or highly figured.

Wonder if a set will fit nicely into a Mini Systainer...

Set correctly, both the 500 and 700 leave a small gap at the bottom of a mortise. This gap absorbs excess glue and accommodates small variations in tenon length.

I’ve used hundreds of Festool tenons of many sizes and never had one too long to fit into a properly cut mortise.

Nice, seems like a lot of work :-)
I have the Original!

I’ve never had an issue using them in joints either. I haven’t measured, but the difference is probably less than 0.01” - not much, but just enough to not fit in the fixture. I probably made the fixture too precise. My mistake was not using a large enough sample base when sizing it.

That is so cool! I didn’t know that such a set existed! How many pieces in your set?

You don't see them that often,
I don't know how many pieces, I guess a complete set/game quantity.
There are stacked two rows, so around 28 pieces looking at the pictures
