Domiplate storage

Let me start by saying I LOVE my domiplate.

My only beef is taking the plate on and off to place my domino in its systainer.

I use my domiplate 99% of the time I'm using my domino, so I'd prefer to keep it mounted when it goes into the  Systainer.

I'm sure I'm not alone.

Anybody have a solution for storing the domino with the domiplate mounted in the systainer?

The domishim stays on my 700 most of the time as well. Luckily, it will still fit in my Sys with it on.

Cheers. Bryan.

I store my domiplate in the case along with the df500. I make sure the knob is facing down. I will send a picture once I get back home.

I'll look forward to seeing pictures with how you do that!

^^ mine as well - although I have knocked a bit of the foam out of whack, it still fits.

I don't think there is any way to store the DF500 with the Domiplate still attached in the systainer, so I think you're out of luck, unless you want to move up in systainer size and fool around with making a new insert.  But I find there is ample space in the systainer for the Domiplate to fit unattached, right along side the trim stop, rail stop and, before I sold them, the cross stops.

Not unless you decide to graduate to a larger Systainer, because I assume you also want to store all of the other items that come with the Domino in the same package. This is what works for me and it is really simple and fast to attach and detach the Domiplate with the thumb screws.

[member=40570]Grasshopper[/member] sorry for the late reply I was dealing with my fiance mother passing away when I originally replied. I do not have a way to store the df-500 with the domiplate attached in the systainer. But I do agree is you get a larger systainer with a customer insert it would solve your problem.

Thanks for the reply. Very sorry for your loss.

With every additional tool after buying a Domino (my first ever Festool purchase), I too, liked to store my Festool accessories in the same systainer that had the primary tool. But, after accumulating a larger number of Festool accessories, I purchased a 9 drawer systainer case for accessory storage. So far, it's worked well. I know exactly where to look for accessories and add-ons.

The new Systainers are a brilliant solution for this ‘problem’. You drop the original insert in the top and use the drawer(s) for the accessories etc.
I am in the process of upgrading some of my sets this way. Added bonus: empty Systainers that can be used for other stuff!
