I once spent a day cleaning all my tools. I really did a nice job and detailed the crap out of them,....

Hmmm.... next time I take the car to be detailed, maybe I'll bring along the RO90??? [big grin]

[thumbs up]

the stickers are a non issue on the T-lok's,  are they not?

I am lookng at mine right now,  and I can print a little card to say anything I want,  then insert that into the label area. (correct me if I am wrong, but this wa my understanding.

now I have mostly classic systainers,  and while I thought I liked them better than T-lok,  I am now not so sure...
the T-loks I have are really nice..

as for the STICKERS,  where on earth can I get new stickers for my CLASSIC systainers?

I have found a few that can be printed,  but what I really want are authentic FESTOOL stickers,  just as Festool uses at the factory.
is it possible to get these?
I have a growing number of Systainers with NO LABELS,  and when you have 5-7 of these out of more than 32 Systainers,  it gets confusing.

I have a question to all of you guys who made the switch over to T-lok.  where do you get the inserts for each tool?

say the TS75...  it's insert surely wont fit into a T lok Systainer 5...    would be nice if Festool offered a tradeup program for the loyal Festool users who are looking to trade out every Classic sys for new T-lok systainers!
at least offer complete Tlok cases with the right labels and inserts?  could something like this be done?

Most of the old systainer inserts will migrate with a couple of little snips in the black plastic. By example, I've moved my ETS150 from old to t-loc and only had to make a tiny snip in the middle front of the black plastic mould.

Different story for the cardboard on the lit though ... does't make the trip - but that didn't concern me.

The label printing is by customising a PDF. You can get plastic sleeves in packs of 10 that fit the slots and you can put anything behind them ... business card one side - tool description the other.

You'll find the link hunting round the US Festool site I'm sure - I'm using the Oz site.

There are a lot of laser and inject printing options if you want to label the older systainers. You could even print to the overhead style of sheet, trim it and apply with a clear aerosol adhesive.

festool do offer tool specific t-locks on the UK site they do take a bit of finding but they are there,

yesterday i read this topic thinking that complaining about the stickers was a bit over the top, but today i got a call from my dealer saying my OF1010 arrived today ( i ordered the OF, LR32 sys and LR1400 rail early this week because my accountant said i should spend more otherwise the taxes dep. was gonna take that money from me anyway)(i called yesterday and they told me my order had arrived, when i got there they said oops the OF1010 didn't arrive and wouldn't be there before january 2, this morning i got a call from them saying the festool rep brought on in from another shop, nice christmas move from them)

anyway lol, i inmediately noticed there was a sticker over the label. It's no big deal but i certainly am gonna try to remove it as it sticks out and makes the whole thing look "cheap"

I can see where the OP has issues with labels. I have over a d Haven't touched Armor All in over a decade. Terrible for your car abd even worse for your tools. I use Vinylex!

I'll have to admit that I just don't get the obsession over a 4 cent label.  I buy Festools because they're Festools and they work better than any other tool for the intended purpose.  I certainly don't buy a tool for no other reason than it has a "cool" label on the container.  Conversely, I won't reject a tool because the container looks less than optimal because of the placement of a supplementary label.  If the label bugs you, remove it or make another that pleases your eye.  A poster in another thread raised the question as to whether the buyer is a user of the tools or a collector of the tools.  I'm thinking that the same question could be applied here.

I learned a long time ago that Armorall provides nothing but short-term cosmetic gain for long-term aggravation, since it's a pretty poor preservative and leaves items to which it is applied slippery resulting in poor "hand adhesion".  Many of us in the sea kayaking community have found that 303 Protectant works far better than Armorall to protect boats and their component parts without leaving them hopelessly slick.

[smile]

This user/collector  thing  really doesn't matter. I am a user and I like my tools, cases, equipment, labels and such  to look decent and "right".   I like my stuff the way I like.  OCD maybe, but so what its my stuff.  [smile] I too would want to fix the label.  I wouldn't boycott the tools over it, but I would fix the label.

Wow, just wow.

Like a giant beauty shop.

Speaking of beauty...

Got any updates on  refurbishments for your woodworking machinery threads?   [poke]  [smile]

Seth

Yeah probably.  I need to take some new video of the American and the 316 in operation since finished.

I think there might be a label over a label on them though. [scratch chin]

This thread has made me make new labels for mine!  I made labels for my "Piggies" back in 2010 and never made mine.

Cross off another thing on the list.

Really I can't tell how many times I have viewed this thread and thought... Okay... I want it to look nice... but working for years in retail it just is not possiable to keep the same UPC/SKU labels when things change. If you're really are a collector of tools and not a  user then replacing the label is not something you would want to do. If you are a user of Festool.... then what it is is what it is... and you use the tool.

The "T" containers allow for custom labels that it really a great thing... and really wish my old style had the same option.

1. I can print my name on it.
2. I can print it what is in it large enough to read without reading glasses.
3. I have duplicate Festool product and have the tools are labelled by colored tape and the label can be printed to that color.

I would think that Festool could offer a PDF print out and owner could replace if it is a bit too much for them.

Don't get me wrong I want  my stuff to look right... but...... I chose my battles..... and issues... to me a label not being one piece... I can live with, might not like...but.... the customers check not going through  or their CC not being accepting...NOW THAT IS  A ISSUE FOR PRO USERS that I have an issue with.

OP...your feeling and issues to you feel are real. I don't mean to disrespect you in any way.

But to me when the classic systaniers drop a label...I am ticked.. When I need to buy more Festools....(Am happy) and want it built right and everything in the box..... I want the systainer to be able to go from -40 to 105 temps and when the assistant hits the door frame and systainers go As* over teakettle... I just don't want them to break. As much as I would like the label to be one piece.....dealing with my kids/family/and other life issues if far bigger to me... maybe not you... all I'm saying it is a personal choice.

I respect your view....just don't personally have the same issues.

Cheers,
Steve

So to everyone that this label on label bothers them. Does the government safety sticker on your car/truck sun-visor bother you?

I take the tag off mattresses, does that count :p

DHS has screening mechanisms on the Internet. You'd better be careful what you say...

When I moved to Amsterdam in '97, the company I worked for offered to move me and my furniture, etc., so I had them move most of my stuff. So when I arrived, I lived in the Crown Plaza until my stuff could make the slow boat trip across the Pond. I found an apartment and had my move-in timed for when I came back from a trip to the 'States.

When I returned, my apartment was ready and my stuff was in Rotterdam in Furniture Prison. Apparently the Customs people noticed I had pulled the tags off my mattresses. They said I couldn't have my stuff.

They were extorting me for the price of Import Duty before they would give me my furniture. They said they were scared I would sell it and that amounted to importing it. Since I had a temporary work visa, they wanted me to pay the Duty and when I left the country, they would give me the money back if I took everything with me. I theorize that since they saw how lawless I had been with my mattresses, they would use it against me. Luckily they didn't make any disparaging notes in my passport like they do with prostitutes.
