Have a C12. Considering the CSX or the C15. Wondering what type of clutch the CSX has? Is it like the C12, or is it the lesser rat-tat-tat style?

While it has the normal mechanical type clutch, it is very quiet with it compared to other drills.

It sounds more like a screw head snapping off, in fact the first time i used the clutch i thought i had snapped a screw until i realised.  [embarassed]

I have the C12, TI15, and CSX. The CSX is a delight to use. The clutch just works. It's quiet and effective. The drill is a lot more powerful than its size would indicate. Its ergonomics are superior. I think the CSX is the most enjoyable tool Festool makes. Get the accessory kit. The extra goodies extend the use of the CSX.

With the C12 and the TI15 in the inventory, I can't justify buying a C15. I've never needed more power that that provided by the C12.

Hmm .. I Have a CXS and a C15. I never want for anything in the middle!

just got my CSX yesterday the set version .its alot smaller than it looks in photos .but done some test drilling/screwing and it seems quite powerfull for the size .am really impressed

next problem CENTROTEC

il give it a couple of months can see me getting another one .think it will be handy to have two

So why are you looking for a new drill if you have the C12 first? I love my CXS it is a great drill for 80% of the stuff I do. I still do not know why they don't make a C18 drill or a 18TI. Also I bought a Ti15 and it is starting to be my go to drill for rough stuff and the CXS is my finish drill.

Adding a c15 would be to take advantage of the Li batteries, and light, while maintaining the advantages the C12-15 have (brushless electronic clutch, etc)

Adding a CSX for the obvious. Lightweight for all day type use. I've got some install jobs coming up at work (I'm not normally an installer, but am helping that team). We're assembling furniture with loads of screws and small, light, and ability to not overdrive delicate screws is what I'm after.

You won't be sad you got the CXS for those types of task.  The CXS really shines in the smaller, trickier stuff like installing cabinet hardwear.  I use it and love it all the time for many tasks. But this is one area it REALLY shines.
