My drill press table was in serious need of an upgrade, so I finished it this weekend.

The replaceable disk ensures I don't damage the top.  It also have a hole through the top that I can use it as a drum sander with a vacuum attached at the back / bottom.

I did not want to store the clamps in the drawer so I added the off-cut T-track as storage positions either side of the drawer.

And the fence must be the best part:  To be able to quickly adjust it - o my, it works like a dream.    ;D

And the chuck wrench is nice and close by hanging on a magnet.

That looks great  [thumbs up]
Having recently moved and planning my new workshop, ideas like this are a source of inspiration.

Really nice table, mine gets used for all sorts of material so is a little more industrial.

The base is 1 1/8" melamine face, the slots are 8020 15 series and there is a 4" square replaceable piece beneath the chuck.  The press is a 40 year old Craftsman 15 1/2 beast.  There aren't too many materials I haven't punched on this.  The angled table on the other side has a large Grizzly compound table that I used for precision work before I bought a bench mill.

Love the offset sacrificial disk! That’s new to me and I’ve seen a lot.

How do you make extra disks?

Hi Michael,

Tx, I saw the offset disc idea on Pinterest...  Like most of the design.  I think only the clamp storage was my own addition.

I simply made a number of disks with the same setup on the router table.  Once I get to only one left, I will simply make a few extra spares via pattern routing on the router table.
