I used mine last week for a drywall section repair, after a lame plumber cut the hole all wrong. It shreds the material so use a finer grit, as in over 220 grit, 320 grit would be a good place to start. Turn the speed down, along with suction. Abranet, or Granat net would be best to use, but anything that sands will get the job done.saands said:
If doing entire rooms or whole house, you might struggle to get it flat, especially if it is your first time. A regular manual hand sander on a pole is more assured to keep the wall flat.
How you do the mud is important. Thinner is better and the longer the knife you use the better for skim coating. Many folks will apply a following layer of very thin mud with a paint roller, then knife it.
I regularly use my ETS150/3 to sand drywall. Love not having to blow boulders out of my nose at the end of the day.

I'd suggest that you look at the new Granat mesh abrasives for sanding drywall. I've used regular Granat on my RO 125 and ETS 125. Both work very well. I seldom get called to do drywall work, so unless there's a real need, I'm unlikely to invest in the mesh abrasives. I agree with Peter on the issue of a cleaner breathing environment.

Used the ETS EC 150/5 a number of times for drywall sanding, I was totally convinced after redoing a ceiling.
I don't do enough drywall to warrant a Planex - nor am I a painter (though I sometimes have to take on that role) so for me the ETS EC works really well, lightweight and agile.
