I am looking to finish some 3D prints in PLA. I have seen many tutorials use bondo glazing and spot putty or other filler and then sand by hand. For example=LY5TRKe_PTjNV5XS

I’m wondering if my DTS 400 would produce good results (especially on curved surfaces) and keep the dust down. Anyone have any experience with this?

I enjoy hand sanding.  It makes me feel like I’m a craftsman.  Change your mindset from I-want-to-get-this-done-as-fast-as-possible to I-want-this-to-represent-me-as-a-craftsman, and the hand sanding will stop being a burden.

I would say it depends on the size (and shape) of the items to be sanded. Power sanding is not the greatest in small, intricate details, otherwise fine. The DTS does not spin, so the likelihood of it snagging something and jerking it from your hand, is minimal. The pointed end may be helpful, again depending on shape. Turn down the suction of your extractor.
