dts400 scuffing laquer paint

our shop just purchased the dts400 to replace an anciant porter cable half sheet sander that worked very well for large surface scuffing. i have only used it now for two days and am having swirls show up in the final coat of laquer paint. anyone have this isue before? should i go to a higher grit? am curintly using 240 granat. thanks

I also have the dts400 and use it on lacquer(pre cat/post cat)
For scuffing I use 220
Are you getting swirls all over? Or just a few spots?
Are you using a vac?
I did get some swirls in the past but I learn not to move too fast
Let the sander do the job

Less hand pressure, higher grit, I use 320, slow down, if you're using dust extraction turn it all the way down.

I got the RTS400 specifically for sanding sealer to replace a PC 1/4 sheet sander that was throwing dust everywhere.
On clear coats over wood 240 grit was OK, but when using ML Campbell white Clawloc primer under MLC  Kristal clear topcoat, I could see swirls and fish hooks using 240X. When I switched to 320X the problem was gone. One problem I do have with this sander is that even with the vac turned all the way down there is still too much suction at times and can cause the sander to want to "run" (hard to explain the movement) and leave swirls if I am not careful.
