Dumb question from a newbie - Cleaning accessory fitment

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out whether my standard smooth 36mm AS hose (supplied with my CTM 36 E AC HD non planex) is supposed to connect directly to the basic Festool D 27/D 36 K-RS-Plus Compact Cleaning Set without any special adapters?

Looking at the end of the cleaning set plastic handle, there are nibs which look to me like they should locate/twist into an adapter of some kind. I can just about fit the rubberised end of the hose over the top of these nibs but somehow feels wrong.

Hopefully I'm not being too thick by asking this question.

Push.  Force fit over the outside.  I have the same issues with some of my stuff.

Huh interesting. Can those little nibs be sanded down/off?

Reckon they could ne sanded without too much trouble.

Bit more research earlier and I'm wondering if the Festool 500670 adapter is designed to fit the cleaning kithttps://www.festool.co.uk/accessory/500670---d-36-dm-asct (although, as per Peter's note earlier, the standard d36 smooth adapter fits over the nibs just about okay).
