Im building a router table and getting to the extraction now. I need to know if there is an easy way to split the hose on my MIDI VAC so it will go to the fence and to underneath the router too. The port on the fence will be a snug fit for the MIDI hose and also the Dewalt router Im using has a dust cowling which the MIDI hose fits perfectly too. I do have some spare VAC hose lying around but need some sort of 35mm Y connector to connect it all up anyone know anywhere in the UK that sell such a thing.

Have a look on ebay there is someone selling the bits you are after they are for a dewalt router table I think the model of the table is a de2000 ?? it is a discontinued table

I have found the item with the search dewalt router table the kit is about £20

It should work as its dewalt/trend/festool sized fittings

I use a festool y adapter. See link.
Hopefully that is what you are looking for. It works great!

Tim,

joiner1970 is using a Midi vac, and as such the Festool Y adaptor may not be entirely suitable. Although the Y adaptor is quite long, it's not quite long enough to reach into the vac port:

If you orient it with one leg of the Y into the cut-out/shaped part of the hose dock, you can angle it forward & get it into the port, but it doesn't quite seat properly & there will be a little bit of air leakage around it, but not enough to worry too much about:

If there was some pull on the hoses, it may possibly fall out, but for a static application such as a router table it shouldn't be a big deal.

These pictures were taken with my Mini, though the Midi is exactly the same shape on top.

Joiner,

You say you have some spare hose - is it 27mm or 36mm?

If it's 27, then there's an easy, off-the-shelf solution. The 27mm hose is a nice, tight fit inside 30mm solvent weld waste pipe (which has an OD of 36mm):

So with a short length of that fitted to all the ends, you can use a solvent-weld  Y or T fitting. Because the solvent weld pipes & fittings are quite tight, you can get away without using any solvent, making it easy to set up & break down.

Edit: It's just occurred to me that if you're using 36mm hose, you may well be able to do the same with 40mm SW waste pipe (which an ID of 38.6mm). Unfortunately I don't have 36mm hose so I can't check the OD of that.

Really! Thanks for the info. and the pics. Quite instructive.
...and they say it's a system [big grin], that's it then, no Midi for me!

Thanks Tim , but I looked at the price of that pipe and nearly fell over its listed at £32 where as I can get a plumbing tee joint for about £2 at the most that will do the same job. Theres some things that I will pay Festool money for and some things I wont  [laughing]

I wish but with little or no work in the last 3 weeks other things are more important at the moment [sad] work in the pipeline if we get it so fingers crossed.
