Dust extractor run off an inverter

Anybody run a Festool dust extractor and other tools off an inverter in their vehicle? I am setting up a Ford Transit and already have an inverter and second battery installed. Wondering if there is any reason not to use this set up with a Festool vac? I've never had a problem with any other tools or vacuums, but don't want to find out I am frying a circuit board or something.

For what it's worth I have run my CT26 off a Honda EU2000i inverter generator and it worked just fine with no ill effects.

The electronics in festool tools do not work with modified sine waves. So make sure you have a true sine wave inverter.

I should have specified a true sine wave inverter. That is my concern, the electronics in it. My $60 Ridgid shop vac runs fine off it, but that one is cheap enough to replace a few times over if it has a problem.

Well, I bought a ct-sys vac specifically for my miter saw in the Transit.  Unboxed it and plugged it in on my shop workbench it runs beautifully. Plugged it in and it won't even turn on running off the inverter. So, in my experience this round goes to a cheapo shop vac which runs off an inverter no problem.

Will the midi run off of a generator like a Honda inverter? I’m thinking it’s a true sine wave, since you can plug a computer in.

I have not tried the midi yet, just the ct-sys. I will try it this afternoon and get back to you. Then I went to the old standby shop vac and a few other corded tools.  The inverter is a true sine wave inverter, so the power is good. I am running Dewalt 20 volt tools for cordless, Dewalt table saw and Festool track saw, sanders and other stuff in the truck. The battery platform just keeps luring me in one tool at a time though.

Tried the Midi vac and it runs perfectly off the inverter.
