Dwc4500 stopped working

Just wondering if anyone had experienced the same problem as me.
My Dwc screwgun has stopped working in the forward gear on both auto and manual, but works in reverse just fine? The gun is just over 3 years old so out of warranty. Just thought I'd ask before sending it to festool uk

Hi Kyle

Sounds like something faulty, the gun should not run until you press the nose against material, which is perfectly normal, but if it doesn't run when you do, then it's time to send it in to the doctor.

Hi Kyle,

I had this happen to me on my 2500.
It wasn't a fault; I was removing a screw and put the magazine back on, pushed the direction switch back.to drive and went to continue. It wouldn't work initially, just realised I hadn't pushed the switch far enough into the body. Try this first before returning the machine, hope this works for you.

Hi Alan  and warren! thanks for the advice! Double checked everything but still no luck however if I take the battery out and put it back in it works for a short while then stops again! (Tried with three different battery's also)  I've arranged a collection for it it's been a faultless three years so I'll either buy a new one or get it fixed if it can be!
