This little guy is without a doubt my favorite sander, but you almost never hear about it in the press or on any forums.  I'm renovating a house, and so far I've used it to edge-sand oak floors, strip paint from windows, and God knows what else.  Also with almost zero dust.  I feel like creating a web site just for fans of this sander!

If you don't have one, go buy one!!

I agree, a great little sander that cut lots of time off a cabinet refinish job, paid for itself  the first two days alone.

I am also a huge fan and have even used it after grouting and caulking my shower.  :D ;D Fred

I like it a lot.  It's very handy in renovation work.

I would like it better if they supported optional smaller pads to get into tighter spots.  I suggested this to Festool a couple of years ago but nothing seems to have come of my suggestion.

Like Frank, I find it very handy for my home renovation projects. Along with an Rotex 150 and CT22, it was one of my first Festool tools. Gear noise was a bit of a shock in the beginning, but I hear it as "quality that will last" now.

Bob Marino convinced me to buy one a couple of years ago when I described the home restoration work I was doing.  Bought it in a package with CT 22.  Haven't regretted it.  Perfect for getting into all those corners and edges of the trim on my doors and windows.  And you can reverse mount the pad holder (downside up) for those instances when there isn't enough space to fit the body of the tool with the pad mounted normally, e.g. the edge of trim that is within a couple of inches from an inside corner of a room.

You know, it's funny, but some of Festool's "hidden gems/unsung heroes" are the ones that haven't been "upgraded" with the detachable cords. I am speaking of the LH 850 Planer, Deltex 93 Sander and the RS 2 E Sander.
They may not get much press (although Jerry Work's guide is helping to change that, at least for the sanders) but they are such worthy tools. Truly each in a class by itself.
