Earthquake

The only major damage I heard about in these parts was the partial collapse of the ceiling in a Sears store.

I know for the folks in California this was child's play, but for my first experience with an earthquake----it was kind of unsettling.  It's a strange thing to look out and see the water in the pool and hot tub sloshing back and forth without anyone in the pool.

Odd how it shook here almost continuously for around a minute.  Guess it's true that Jersey's one big landfill--unstable ground.  [big grin]

Nah, it was Jimmy Hoffa trying to get out from under the Meadowlands...

[big grin]

Give it to Jesse, he'll bring it back to life.

This was nothing for you Californians.  You guys need a good 8.0 + to be a typical day.

OK, wait wait... so now the only difference between the east and west coast is the better weather?  [poke]

Hi,

I was in a restuarant on Canandaigua Lake, in NY. Didn't notice anything.  ???

Yesterday I was poking fun at everyone on the East coast for over reacting to the earthquake. What I did not realize was that a lot of people, that were in office buildings, were first concerned that the rocking and rolling was another terrorist attack.  They were relieved that is was ONLY an earthquake.

My sincerest apologies to all.  [embarassed]

Huge snow storms, floods, earthquake, now a big hurricane with the possibility of spawning tornados for New England and... Steve Jobs leaving Apple!  I think the Mayans were telling us about the end of the world!

Steve Jobs is offering himself to calm down the gods!!!

Ooooooh, hitting poor Steve when he is down!!!  [big grin]

However, you are right Alex, the stories of his legendary jerkness are numerous. I can't believe for a second it is necessary to bring out the best in people. In fact, quite the opposite. The best work I have ever done came along with bosses who were patient and very supportive. They were/are so great, you simply want to do your best for them. THAT is leadership. Widespread fear of tantrums is not my idea of leadership. I think Apple being successful and innovative due to one man is a huge myth. Time will tell.
