Code goes on the first page after clicking Buy It Now, so still within eBay before the transfer to PayPal to actually pay.

Just got a couple of Sortainers at 20% off...  [wink]

I'm just looking for stuff to buy lol

I googled the code and its listed on the daily mirror site too.

I had an email from PayPal first thing this morning. Has to be used by midnight though, so if you are eligible, don't hang around!

Too late, I missed out.  It states that there is no balance left on this redemption code.  [crying]

Normally when these codes are out, to use them, you have to have received the email - I guess they must tag the eBay/PayPal accounts in some way? Perhaps that's what is happening here?

It shouldn't be as this code is on the mirror website for anyone to use supposedly.

I just put an of 1400 router in my basket on the eBay app and when I tried to redeem the code it just said there are no remaining funds left on this voucher.

I tried it as well and it didn't work. I got the message "There is no balance left on this redemption code"

Just googled it and people are going mental everywhere. On the hot deals site there's a huge thread on it. Some people are contacting eBay which is taking hours just to get told they will refund the 20% after.

Sounds like eBay have cocked this right up

Thanks for posting ospb2014.
Thought to myself - oh, all right then; I'll treat myself to the BHC 18; even though it can only 'drill'.
But no go - same message as others who were unsuccessful.

One message read after googling was:

i've just been told over the phone that the email was sent in error and they are not prepared to honour the voucher or offer another code - basically they have no interest in sorting this".

So guess a  'mess' up - but what's the thing about it being in the Daily Mirror??

(Edit:  Sorry - didn't read properly; the code was mentioned on Daily Mirror website  [embarassed] )

my wife just told me that she actually got the email from ebay with the code in. I might try using her account to see if its linked to her ebay account maybe it will work. If not its pretty poor from ebay to send out codes by mistake and not sort it out sooner.

Yeah it's working again I could get an of 1400 for £370 :) but I've spent a lot lately so gonna have to settle for something cheaper lol

I just bought a Veritas Bevel Up Jointer plane with PM-V11 blade for £233.00 using the offer. Thanks for the heads up!

I didn't get anything in the end. Looked earlier and the code worked then I decided at 10 to midnight to get a long life bag for my midi and it didn't work lol. Oh well saved me spending £60 :)

Wot a shambles by eBay - lot of mutterings on the web.

Thankfully, looks like those who had code accepted will have no prob's.
Some claim that told by eBay, that code discount will be honoured, even if paid full price - after failing to get code to work presumeably??

I've had a callback from Customer Services and also spoken to them on Ebay Chat. Said they will refund the 20% discount within 14 days, so all is ok. Shame it was so complicated for something that should have been an easy transaction but alls well now. My phone call and chatroom discussion was recorded, so covered by law. I would suggest contacting them again.)

Had to go out again after posting yesterday pm.  Got back late after a pint and something to eat; tried again about 22:30 - no joy.
This morning, thought would check out how people seemed to have got on.

I have just gone through to the contact screen to try and contact Ebay and there is the following statement:
"Our coupon campaign today has proven to be hugely successful with customers and the promotion exceeded all our expectations. Due to huge customer demand, this discount coupon is no longer available and we apologise to any customers who have been unable to participate. We know our buyers love to shop and we regularly offer discount promotions so there will be more opportunities in future"

Not at all sure what eBay expected  [unsure]
Congrat's to those who were successful - enjoy...
